What happens in the room

Conversation, not conference theatre.

Come in. Meet people. Talk cybersecurity. Share what you are doing. Learn something useful. Leave knowing more people than you did before.

01

Cyber Roundtable

Open, moderated conversations about current security issues, careers, technology, regulation and what practitioners are seeing in the real world.

02

Peer Spotlight

Community members share projects, research, tools, career experiences, bug bounty work, CTFs and useful things they are building.

03

Community Conversations

Questions, introductions, experiences, mentorship and knowledge-sharing across different levels of the ecosystem.

04

Professional Networking

Real time to meet people, exchange contacts, discover collaborators and build relationships beyond LinkedIn.

Why it exists

Cybersecurity grows stronger when the people doing the work know one another.

Ibadan has security talent across universities, banks, fintech, technology companies, consulting, startups, research and independent work. Yet people can know of one another without having enough recurring, informal space to build real relationships.

Cyber Meetup creates a physical connection point. It gives experienced practitioners and people finding their way into the field a shared room—without pretending everyone has the same background, role or ambition.

The goal is simple: reduce professional isolation, make local work more visible and create more chances for collaboration, mentorship and opportunity to emerge naturally.

Cyber Meetup is where we meet in person. The CyberPastey Community is where professionals, students, researchers and practitioners stay informed, share opportunities, ask questions, discuss security, discover initiatives and remain connected between quarterly meetups.

Questions before you come in?

Meetup FAQ.

What is Cyber Meetup with CyberPastey?

A quarterly, in-person gathering for Ibadan’s cybersecurity ecosystem—convened by CyberPastey for conversation, connection, collaboration and professional relationships.

Who can attend?

Practitioners, students, researchers, founders, leaders, career transitioners and technology professionals interested in security are welcome. The room is intentionally cross-level.

Is it only for experienced professionals?

No. It is also not a beginners-only event. The value comes from bringing people at different stages into the same respectful conversation.

How often does the meetup happen?

Quarterly. The exact date, venue, admission and registration details are announced for each edition.

Where does it take place?

In Ibadan. Venues may change between quarterly editions, so use the Next Meetup module for the current location.

Do I need to register?

Yes when registration opens. Each edition may have a capacity limit, and the registration link will appear clearly on this site.

Is attendance free?

Admission is set for each edition. We will show the confirmed price or free-admission status with the event details rather than making a permanent promise.

Can I present a project?

You can express interest in Peer Spotlight for projects, research, tools, CTF or bug bounty learning, career stories and useful experiments. All submissions are reviewed.

How can my organisation support the meetup?

Visit the Sponsor page to explore sponsorship, venue, media, community and knowledge partnerships. We shape relevant collaborations rather than selling generic logo placement.

Will photographs or video be taken?

Usually, yes. If you prefer not to appear in public media, tell the registration team before the event or email contact@cyberpastey.com.
